Types of nutrition in ornamental plants 21

Nutrition in deciduous and flowering plants is one of the most important events to which professionals dealing with landscaping and landscape architecture pay attention. No matter what climate zone you are in, whether you grow ornamental or agricultural vegetation, you will have to nourish your plants even if you grow them in high quality flower soil.

It is extremely important for the optimal development of ornamental vegetation in your garden, and not only ornamental plants, but also agricultural ones. This is done because basic and pre-sowing fertilization (which are also one of the mandatory and extremely important activities for vegetation) cannot provide the necessary nutrients for the plants, also especially if the soil is sandy (this means that it is permeable and does not retain moisture, the water you water quickly drains away, and with it the nutrients you have imported, which in turn makes the soil poor and unfavorable for your plants). landscape grass limiter качествен ландшафтен ограничител за трева

Feeding is done through two very popular ways, namely liquid and dry plant nutrition. The liquid is made with both mineral fertilizers (pictured by Don Nunn) and organic fertilizers (pictured by DRB62). Both types of fertilizers are introduced into the soil substrate in the form of solutions, which according to the needs of the plant and the area for which they are distributed are prepared with the appropriate consistency. This type of tote is very often used and valued for grassing gardens and yards.

The consistencies also depend on the growth phase in which the plant is located. For example, for young plants (young plants are considered to be between one and ten years old) and those that take root (mainly in the production of propagating material, when under certain conditions the cuttings placed for rooting need nutrients), the ratio is recommended m / y the main nutrients (for all plant species the main nutrients are nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) to be N: P: K = 2: 1: 0.5.

For older plants (these are plants between ten and fifty years old on average, which have a well-developed root system and a well-developed aboveground part) it is recommended N: P: K = 1: 0.5: 1, before the beginning of flowering – N : P: K = 1: 3: 2, and during the period when the plants set the new buds (usually this is the period towards the end of summer and the beginning of autumn, for each species this period is different) and their fruits ripen, the attitude is recommended to be N: P: K = -: 3: 2 (nitrogen is not imported during this period because nitrogen generally stimulates the development of leaf mass and in general the vegetative growth of the respective species, which during this period can lead to re-flowering, also nitrogen reduces the winter hardiness of plants and they become unstable to the upcoming early autumn frosts and generally to low temperatures. It can also compromise fruit ripening.

Organic fertilizers (natural fertilizer)

It is recommended for universal plant nutrition, the solution to be prepared from two tablespoons of a mixture of mineral fertilizers per 10 liters of water. If you see that the plant does not improve its appearance, you can repeat this universal fertilization, but it should not be overdone and should not be in a very short period of time. Because in this way you risk damaging the plant partially or the whole may die.

When preparing solutions for liquid feeding with organic fertilizers for the regions of Bulgaria, manure, poultry manure and blood meal are mainly used.

The technology of preparation of the solutions is as follows. One week before feeding you should fill the fertilizers with water in a ratio of 1: 1, usually used barrels, cans and various other containers, which after using for these purposes should be washed very carefully before continuing to use them for anything else. After pouring, mix well, stirring is done periodically throughout the week, it is very important to stir daily. As an indicator that the solution is ready for use is that bubbles have stopped coming out.

After you have prepared the solution, dilute it with water as the consistency of beef manure is 1 part of the fertilizer solution and 2 parts of water, for poultry be careful, it is quite strong and therefore put 1 part of the fertilizer solution with 20 parts of water and blood. flour is even 1 to 40. To enrich fertilizer solutions with phosphorus and potassium (which, as mentioned above, are one of the most necessary for your ornamental plants chemical elements), before diluting with water you can add 15-20 grams of 10 liters of superphosphate (it is a phosphorus fertilizer, you can find it in all specialized garden centers and pharmacies) and 50-60 grams per 10 liters of wood ash (it is rich in potassium, if you do not find wood ash you can use potassium fertilizers, too you can find them in garden centers).
