Large-leaved magnolia or as it is also known by its Latin name Magnolia grandiflora is an amazing tree with its beauty, which can reach a height of about 30 m. The shape of the crown can be different, but the most common is broadly pyramidal.
The crown is thick and dark green. At different stages of development, the bark of the Magnolia changes color. In adulthood, the bark is gray and slightly cracked.
In turn, the twigs and buds of this species are hairy with hairs that have a rusty color. The leaves are quite large (hence the name of the species – large-leaved) with an elongated, obovate shape and thick to the touch. At the top they are pointed, and at the base they have a wide wedge-shaped base.
The leaves themselves are very interesting. They are about 25 cm long at the edge are whole, have no serrations. Large-leaved magnolia is among the most commonly used trees for landscaping yards and gardens. It is often placed as a single accent, and luxurious dark green grass mixtures are sown around it.
